David Suro, Attorney at Law
After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado, David Suro began his legal career at the Pepperdine University School of Law. While there, he interned for the Los Angeles District Attorney, taught work-related skills to inmates at federal penal institutions, and attended a semester in London through a program offered in conjunction with the London School of Economics. David also won two American Jurisprudence Awards during his time at Pepperdine, an honor given to the law student with the highest marks in a class.
David was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1994 and was sworn in as a Deputy District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District in the same year. While in that role, David worked his way up through every department in the office, from DUIs and misdemeanor offenses to juvenile and drug cases to homicides and other major felonies. He also served in supervisory capacities, made filing decisions, and advised local law enforcement agencies in ongoing criminal investigations.
After leaving the District Attorney’s office, David worked for a law firm that represented the City of Denver and the Denver Police Department in federal claims involving civil rights violations. He also represented numerous municipalities in regards to claims of misconduct against police officers.
David started his own law firm in 1999 and has been practicing there ever since. His firm is focused primarily on trial law, criminal defense, and civil claims on behalf of plaintiffs. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Denver Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.
Over the course of his career, David has tried over 400 jury trials with an extremely high success rate. He has represented people from all walks of life: judges, other lawyers, CEOs, teachers, principals, law enforcement officers, athletes and celebrities, and moms and dads. David has also been recognized as a Top 100 U.S. Trial Lawyer, has taught continuing legal education courses to other attorneys, has been retained by other law firms as both trial counsel and as a trial consultant, and has testified as an expert witness in court regarding practice standards, trial-related strategies and legal theories.
